ACCOUNT DIRECTOR, TOKYO

Role

Lead integrated communications strategies that drive business impact across earned, owned, and paid channels.

• Serve as a trusted advisor to senior and C-suite clients, delivering clear, strategic counsel.
• Manage multiple accounts, ensuring exceptional work quality, profitability, and smooth execution.
• Mentor and grow teams, fostering a collaborative, high-performing environment.
• Build strong media and ecosystem relationships across technology sectors.
• Spot opportunities, solve challenges proactively, and shape long-term client and agency growth.
• Support new business pitches and help scale Hoffman methodologies regionally.

Background & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field such as Public Affairs, Economic and International Relationships

• Strong proficiency in Japanese and English is essential to support cross-market communications, client engagement, and content development across the region.
• More than 10 years of experience in public relations, integrated communications, or marketing - preferably within an agency environment
• Proven success in leading regional or multi-market client accounts with measurable business impact
• Deep understanding of the technology, B2B, or digital ecosystem - able to connect insights across technology industries Strong strategic planning skills with the ability to translate client business goals into compelling communication campaigns
• Demonstrated expertise in media relations, storytelling, and stakeholder engagement at senior and C-suite levels
• Hands-on experience managing cross-functional teams and mentoring mid-level leaders to success
• Entrepreneurial mindset with commercial acumen; able to balance creative innovation with business profitability
• Comfortable operating in fast-paced, multicultural, and matrix environments across APAC or global markets
