Your Profile

You are a qualified European Patent Attorney (EPA), with a proven patent background in Biochemistry, Biotechnology (or related Biology discipline) from either an industry or private practice environment. Exposure to immunology, viral vectors or cancer therapy would be advantageous. You must have a good working knowledge of patent procedures and deadlines, and experience of drafting and prosecuting patent applications. You should also possess excellent communication skills, with an innate ability to to liaise with different stakeholders. Applications from 'finalist' level part-qualified candidates will also be considered.

The Role

This is a newly created position, as you'll be assisting with the development of the current IP portfolio and reporting to the Head of IP. This position requires regular liaison with R&D, so you must be adept at spotting commercial opportunities to strengthen existing patent applications. You'll also assist with FTO searches and analysis, as well as reviewing prior art searches. An ability to work to strict deadlines is essential, as is a commercial empathy with non-patent professionals in the company.
