The Person

You a qualified CPA/EPA with a demonstrable record of managing Biotechnology caseloads, either in private practice or industry. You should possess an Honours Degree in a relevant Life Sciences subject (Biochemistry, Biology, Immunology etc). A PhD would be advantageous, but not essential.

You should be adept at core drafting and prosecution, as well as exposure to contentious areas of IP to include FTOs, Oppositions and Appeals. Experience of working with direct clients is desirable.
A scientific background in protein engineering and immunology would be advantageous, as would an aptitude to embrace new technologies.

You should possess an innate ability to manage, prioritise and complete tasks in an organised and diligent manner, whilst maintaining a high-quality level of output at all times.

Your communication and interpersonal skills should be first-class, and an ability to liaise with different stakeholders in R&D, Legal and Executive level teams will be essential.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Head of IP, you will make an immediate contribution to a growing in-house team. Some of your key responsibilities will include:

* Identifying new IP opportunities
* Patentability assessments
* Monitoring third party IP
* Reviewing FTOs
* Preparing third party observations and Oppositions
* R&D liaison
* Maintaining and updating IP Management systems
