The opportunity
We're partnering with a successful and growing digital media publisher to appoint a Content Producer.
This is an exciting opportunity for a talented video journalist and storyteller to create compelling, research-led content for a large digital audience. You'll work across YouTube and other content formats, researching emerging stories, pitching creative ideas, writing scripts and overseeing video production from initial concept through to completion.
The role has been created due to continued growth and offers opportunities for domestic and international travel approximately three to four times per year.
Key responsibilities
Research relevant trends, developments and stories.
Pitch original and compelling ideas for digital-video content.
Turn complex or technical subjects into accessible stories for mainstream audiences.
Write engaging scripts and develop clear storyboards.
Lead assigned productions from concept through to delivery.
Work closely with editorial leads, editors and other creative colleagues.
Source third-party footage, images and supporting evidence.
Secure the appropriate licences, permissions and releases.
Develop a strong network of sources and industry contacts.
Ensure all content meets the required editorial, journalistic and legal standards.
Contribute to content across YouTube and potentially podcasts, events and other formats.
What we're looking for
At least three years' experience in video journalism, digital content or a similar content-production role.
A strong portfolio of research-led, explainer-style video content.
Excellent research, scripting and storytelling skills.
Experience producing content specifically for YouTube or other digital platforms.
The ability to make detailed subjects engaging and understandable.
Strong editorial judgement and attention to detail.
Experience overseeing the production process and collaborating with creative teams.
Excellent organisation and the ability to manage deadlines in a fast-moving environment.
A genuine enthusiasm for the impact of digital-video journalism.
Candidates from a range of industries are encouraged to apply. However, this opportunity is best suited to someone with a digital-first video-journalism or YouTube background rather than experience limited to traditional television production.
Working arrangement
This is a remote-first position, with the wider team meeting in person in London approximately once every two weeks or once a month. Candidates should therefore be able to travel to London when required.
To apply
Please submit your CV alongside three links to relevant examples of your work, clearly explaining your personal contribution to each project.
