Editor (13 Month FTC).

The client and the available vacancy sit within a fast-growing technology division of a global media company.

The publication itself is a EMEA-wide magazine offering rich and relevant content on the luxury smart sector, as well as covering the latest in audio, visual and control technologies for residential dwellings.

They are now looking for an Editor to lead the magazine and be responsible for commissioning, writing, editing and steering in-depth features and analysis; creating a go-to resource for residential custom installers.

You will have the benefit of one month working with the existing editor of the title with responsibility for conception and delivery of six print magazines a year as well as content for online outlets, video interviews and webinars.

Please note - although a 13 month contract, the division are in a period of growth and for any candidate that perform well, this limited contract would lead to a permanent position on an affiliated product.

They are offering a salary up to £42,000k, plus fully remote working if you wish to do so, as their offices can be found in Tunbridge Wells and international travel

Responsibilities:

• Commission and create content on trending technology stories
• Use sources to identify trends to help you publish news stories before they have broken into the 'mainstream' and craft engaging, relevant features
• Uphold house style throughout all output
• Create compelling content that increases readership
• Commissioning and editing of freelance copy or material
• Approach and secure interviews and opinions from tech users and influencers
• Attend and help stage events across the world

The Person:

• The ideal candidate will be an editor or journalist, with at least 2 years editorial experience and who is able to conceptualise, publish and distribute content for a trade magazine.
• Ability to manage freelancers, and communicate effectively across time zones
• Understanding of the role of commercial partners in modern journalism and an ability to maximise this interest
• Active social media presence and the ability and willingness to use it to build readership
• Excellent English skills and experience of writing (preferably in technical media)
