A fantastic in-house opportunity to join an expanding IP team with a global leader in multiple industry sectors.

The Company

This global organisation are a world leader in their field, serving over 40 countries worldwide in multiple technology markets to include medical, engineering, energy and manufacturing. Their culture is very people-driven, fostering an engaging and challenging environment for all. The leadership and executive teams are easy to communicate with, and decision making is often very responsive, owing to their relatively flat-hierarchy. The IP team is integral to both the R&D and legal functions, all of which are located on-site, so attorneys are encouraged to liaise extensively with both patent and non-patent stakeholders. They typically attract proactive people that have a 'can-do' decisive attitude, value and listen to the input of others and work well as part of a team.

The Role

* Reporting to the Head of Intellectual Property, you will be a pivotal in assisting with the delivery of the department's global IP strategy.
* The role requires a high degree of autonomy and you will be expected to educate, advise and support leadership teams and project managers in your areas of the IP business.
* You should have wide experience across all aspects of IP, including freedom to operate analysis, patent prosecution, drafting, contentious matters. Experience in the negotiation of IP related agreements would be an advantage.
* Flexible working is wholly supported within the company, and integrated systems allow employees to work from home as well as on site.


The Person

* You must be a qualified European Patent Attorney (EPA)
* A scientific background in Chemistry, ideally with experience of Organic Chemistry and Polymers
* You should possess drive, enthusiasm and excellent commercial acumen for the role.
* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills are critical in order to succeed in this challenging and varied role.
* In-house industrial experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
* A commercial and proactive aptitude to persuade and influence at all levels
