Principal Consultant

Salary: £55,000 - £65,000

Location: London / Hybrid

A global Environment, Climate Change and Sustainability advisory service, delivering world-class strategic and technical services that enable their clients to accelerate their sustainability performance toward a future where society and the plant can thrive, are now looking for a Principal Consultant to join.

The role will involve people management, project delivery, business development, and account management, to provide advice to clients on projects spanning transition planning, net zero, and TCFD.

About the role

• Working closely with all members of the Environment & Climate Change team as well as engage with senior stakeholders.
• Liaise with project teams, clients, overseas offices, and representatives from partner organisations.
• Prepare whole value chain GHG emission inventories at a corporate level and for product systems, including delivering Net Zero strategies.
• Identify and assess the financial impact of climate risks and opportunities across climate scenarios.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues globally to develop and deliver climate change services as part of the broader ESG service offering, including training and upskilling of global colleagues.
• Actively managing client relationships to expand scope of work and identify opportunities of collaboration.
• Undertaking line management duties to help support career development within the team.

About you

• Experience is essential in at least one or more of the following: carbon management and strategy (including implementing carbon/energy reduction programmes), GHG accounting (including GHG Protocol & SECR), scope 3 measurement and reporting, target setting (including an understanding of net-zero approaches), and TCFD response and reporting.
• Extensive experience working in the Environment and Carbon field, either as part of an in-house CSR team or as a consultant.
• Nice to have experience in carbon markets and internal carbon pricing, as well as residual emissions and offsetting.
• Possess skills in time and project management, as well as line management.
• Experience with business development and senior stakeholder engagement and management.
