The Role

* Applications are welcomed from qualified European Patent Attorneys and/or UK Chartered Patent Attorneys, with up to 3 years PQE (Finalist level candidates will also be seriously considered)
* acting for a wide variety of biotechnology companies, universities, spin-outs, and niche chemical players.
* subject matter encompasses biochemistry, biotechnology and chemical fields in particular.
* drafting, prosecution and contentious areas of patent IP
* potential for client secondments where required
* business development in the Cambridge area

The Person

* A commercially astute patent attorney with a good understanding of the challenges arising in the fields of life sciences and biotechnology.
* A Bachelor's Honours Degree in Biological Sciences or Biochemistry
* Working with the existing team in the further development and expansion, particularly the biotechnology practice.
* A capacity to engage and advise a variety of different stakeholders, fostering a proactive and commercially astute approach to client portfolio management.
