Title: Finance Director

Salary: £70,000

Hybrid working - 1 day a week in the office

Start Date: February 2023

Hours: Monday - Friday | 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Term: Permanent

Location: Piccadilly, London

An amazing company who are looking to recruit a Finance Director to join their team. Must ideally have experience and knowledge in leading a small team as well as good problem-solving and analytical skills. They will be working across the team and reporting to the board of directors, advising/planning/forecasting the requirements and objectives of the business.

Overall responsibility for the financial strategy for delivering strategic business plans. This will include:

  • Production of all statutory and management financial reporting
  • Production of budget, in-year forecasts and 2-3 year financial plans and forecasts
  • Ongoing evaluation of financial information systems (CRM/CMS) and development thereof
  • Management of relationship with the Auditors
  • Appraising senior managers and the Board of Directors as to the financial status of the organisation
  • Management of the Finance Officer
  • Attend and provide executive support for the Audit & Risk Committee

DUTIES INCLUDE:

Strategic Performance Area: Strategy & Financial Performance - 20%

  • Advise the Board of Directors, Chief Executive (CEO) and Leadership Team (LT) on financial reporting requirements and financial strategy and how each of these components will impact company objectives.
  • Input into Company objectives and proactively leading in financial and strategic planning
  • Contributing to the growth and long-term financial stability of the company, taking the lead role in business planning, budgeting and forecasting activities. This will involve such activities as assisting the LT in sourcing new revenue streams by analysing financial trends, cash flow forecasting and product development.
  • Collaborate on "Business Continuity Planning" and "Audit & Risk Planning"

Strategic Performance Area: Efficiency & Effectiveness - 30%

  • Spearhead change across financial strategy and control.
  • Monitoring and evaluating financial information systems and suggesting/ implementing improvements where needed (CRM/CMS).
  • Supporting each member of the LT and their department in the areas of revenue generation, cost control, decision making, product design and understanding/owning their accounts/budgets.
  • Overseeing Company Secretarial duties for IPSE and dormant companies
  • Collaborate with the CEO/Board of Directors on KPIs

Financial Reporting, Planning & Control - 50%

  • Production of monthly, quarterly and annual financial information on a timely basis to the highest standard. Proactively develop financial reporting to meet the organisation's needs.
  • "Hands-on" supervision of all elements of the accounts function from "cradle to grave".
  • Cash flow forecasting
  • Identify, measure and report on key performance indicators
  • Ensure that all financial matters are in accordance with legislation, regulation and ethical accounting practices.
  • Take the lead in budget and forecasting activities and financial planning

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:

  • Degree Level Qualification
  • Recognised Accountancy qualification with at least 4 years post qualification experience
  • Competent using Microsoft Office - Word, Excel (Intermediate+), PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Experience working within a not-for-profit / SME
  • Experience leading a small team
  • Experience leading change management (new CRM systems, accounting packages)
  • A positive, cooperative and business-focused approach to delivering solutions.
  • Good problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Proven business acumen and sound commercial approach
  • Relationship builder that enjoys contributing outside their area of specialisation
