Head of Social.

The client is a professional international membership organisation that promotes and advances civil engineering around the world. It is a qualifying body, a centre for the exchange of specialist knowledge, and a provider of resources to encourage innovation and excellence in the profession worldwide.

They are now looking to hire a brand new Head of Social to take responsibility for, and lead the strategic development of all online channels to support the development of the client's reputation, enhance online engagement and build an online communities in line with overall strategy.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrable creativity and good knowledge of social media platforms and would suit someone looking for a step up

This is a full time permanent opportunity, paying up to £80k basic salary

Responsibilities

• Own the development of a strategic social media communications plan and its associated budget across campaigns and channels.
• Ensure integration with messages and stories across external and internal channels.
• Provide inspirational and creative thought leadership on ways to reach and gain the attention of target audiences.
• Plan and manage campaign executions, on time, on budget, to scope.
• Oversee the management and development of social media communities by responding to social media posts and proactively developing discussions.
• Continuously improve the client's social presence, putting in place a roadmap of enhancements that make our channels easy to navigate and relevant for our various audiences.
• Keep on top of emerging trends for social media and website development and find ways to integrate them into the plan.

The Person

• Proven success developing and managing a social media function at a senior level, either in-house for a corporate, or agency side.
• Proven understanding of online community building, fostering engagement and long-term maintenance
• Working knowledge of SEO, eCRM, online advertising and paid social media distribution.
• Strong relationship-building and influencing skills.
• Comfortable advising senior leaders; robust and willing to challenge appropriately.
• Significant experience managing a team.
• Excellent written and face-to-face communication skills..
