Are you a dual qualified patent attorney (EPA/CPA) looking for an in-house move, but with a difference? Are you adept at liaising with inventors about the patentability of inventions? Can you communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders?


The Person

You're a UK Qualified (CPA) and European Qualified (EPA) Patent Attorney with a degree and/or PhD in physical sciences or engineering. If you have gained broad experience within electronics, that would also be advantageous.

You should possess an analytical and enquiring mind, with excellent attention to detail and an ability to confidently foster relationships with R&D stakeholders at all levels. As a qualified patent attorney you should also possess proven experience of drafting, prosecution and experience of handling contentious areas of IP.

You should enjoy teamwork and relish the opportunity to work closely with others, as well as being diligent and efficient to manage your own individual IP projects.

The Role

* Drafting patent applications based on invention disclosures and discussions with R&D decision makers;
* Patent filing and prosecution in the UK, Europe and internationally;
* Helping to maintain IP management systems for a growing portfolio of over 100 patent families;
* Assisting technical staff with IP-related questions and helping with the continuing development of IP-related knowledge and processes within the company
* Patent searching in areas of interest and giving advice on third-party patent rights
* Attending patent committee meetings involving the IP team and technical and commercial managers
