We are recruiting on behalf of a global market research firm seeking a Business Development Manager to join their expanding commercial team. This role is ideal for someone with a proven ability to identify opportunities, build strong relationships, and drive revenue growth through consultative sales.

Our client is a leading provider of global market research services, known for delivering high-quality insights to Fortune 500 companies, government agencies, academic institutions, and research firms worldwide.

They offer end-to-end research solutions-both qualitative and quantitative-through methodologies such as CATI, CAWI, face-to-face interviews, and multilingual fieldwork. Their mission is to help organisations make informed, strategic decisions through reliable, data-driven insights.

Role Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities including potential markets, clients, and partnerships.
  • Develop tailored strategies to penetrate new sectors and enhance client engagement.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with both new and existing clients.
  • Conduct needs assessments and develop customised proposals and solutions.
  • Deliver persuasive sales presentations and pitches.
  • Attend relevant industry events and conferences to network and stay current with trends.
  • Create accurate sales forecasts and proactively work to meet or exceed targets.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of research services, market conditions, and client requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure successful project delivery.

Required Skills & Experience

  • At least 2 years of experience in business development or sales within market research, insights, or related sectors.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong time management and multitasking abilities.
  • A strategic and creative approach to sales and client development.
  • Ability to understand technical concepts and translate them into client-focused solutions.
  • Excellent customer service orientation.
  • Solid understanding of business and marketing principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and statistical analysis software.
