Are you an experienced IP Manager looking for an in-house move, but with a difference? Are you adept at maintaining a commercially viable intellectual property portfolio?
The Person
You're an experienced Intellectual Property Manager, possessing a legal and/or scientific degree background, currently working in-house as part of a dedicated IP team or similar environment. A technical understanding of electronics or engineering would be advantageous.
Familiarity with electronics/engineering based patent processes, coupled with an understanding of how IP integrates with R&D and the wider legal function of an organisation.
You should possess an analytical and enquiring mind, with excellent attention to detail and an ability to work under pressure. You must be methodical, organised and possess commercial acumen.
The Role
* Manage and maintain a commercially viable intellectual property portfolio;
* Identify and secure IP protection for internal projects including drafting, filing and prosecution rights, liaising with internal and external agents as appropriate;
* Helping to maintain IP management systems for a growing portfolio of over 100 patent families;
* Assisting technical staff with IP-related questions and helping with the continuing development of IP-related knowledge and processes within the organisation;
* Patent searching in areas of interest and giving advice on third-party patent rights
* Attending patent committee meetings involving the IP team and technical and commercial managers
