This global e-commerce platform is looking for several Business Development Consultants to join their growing Sales team! Their Business Development teams focus on building partnerships with new merchants. They spend their days learning about what makes small-business tick and how to craft unique marketing campaigns to help them reach their targeted audiences. Their expertise ultimately creates jobs and drives economies as they help local merchants thrive.

The Role

  • You will seek out new business opportunities, targeting local businesses, through cold calling to engage, consult, and close deals
  • Develop familiarity with each merchant's business, including but not limited to: products and/or services, consumer demographics, consumer ratings, points of competitive differentiation, merchant economic model, and revenue/profit drivers
  • Utilise knowledge of deal structure and strategy to reach merchants' desired outcomes and maximise profit
  • Take ownership of the contract negotiation process, dealing with margins, discounts, and other critical elements
  • Drive market growth for both quality of merchants and revenue

The Candidate

  • At least 2 years' success in a sales role within a territory or product to ensure you can hit the ground running
  • High level of understanding in relationship management with accounts and strong sales orientation
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience in meeting sales quotas, negotiation and problem solving
  • You're resilient, and possess the innate ability to inspire passion in others
  • You are able to confidently demonstrate ownership of your performance, always looking for ways to be more coachable and improve
