Communications Officer.

I am looking for a Communications Officer to join a renowned healthcare professional body.

Previous experience in healthcare is not necessary.

Start date: 10th July
Contract length: 3 months, with the possibility to join on a permanent basis after that period
Day rate: up to £130 doe / £30k per year
Location: London

Key Responsibilities:

• Research, write and distribute communications materials for digital and print publications such as: annual reports, newsletters, news stories and press releases, position statements, social media posts, award nominations and speeches, etc that appeals to a range of audiences.
• Maintain the company's media database and seek media contacts and influencers to send press releases and statements.
• Assist the Head of Communications responding to enquiries from journalists and liaising with freelance copywriters, developing working relationships and ensuring all inquiries are answered promptly.
• Source and commission design, photography, print and graphics for use across channels.
• Source and write news stories for website and social media channels.
• Work with senior staff to develop and implement website community engagement strategies.
• Responsible for implementing social media strategy and reporting effectiveness.
• To assist in the translation of policy activity and initiatives for written materials including speeches, articles, briefings, presentations, campaign related materials and letters.
• Assist the Events and Engagement Officer with their events
• Occasional travel, including overnight stays, within the UK.
